90’s Baby

Nearing the late 1990’s we identified that the Cities of
Mission, Donna, and McAllen were nearing our land holding
around Hidalgo County. It became evident that residential
and commercial development of this farm property were in
the best interest of the community. Thus Rhodes
Enterprises, Inc. first mixed-use developments were born.

Rhodes Enterprises, Inc., the McAllen area real estate developer of Tres Lagos and Bentsen Palm, approaches the Rio Grande Valley’s real estate market needs with a clear vision. We are keenly in tune with the Valley’s past, and our goal is to serve current real estate market needs while planning for the future.

History and Vision

In the late 1990’s, Rhodes Enterprises was established to meet a specific and timely need. Rhodes Enterprises identified that the Cities of Mission, Donna, and McAllen were nearing the Rhodes’s land holdings around Hidalgo County. It became evident that development of this farm property was in the best interest of our community. Since that time Rhodes Enterprises, Inc. has become the largest mixed-use developer of land in the Rio Grande Valley. Our goal is to be the Valley’s premiere land development company with attention to land use planning, architectural harmony, restrictions, and amenities. We strive to achieve this goal through a complete and diversified real estate department staff including sales & leasing, property management, property maintenance, accounting and support personnel.

Serving the Needs of Our Communities

The Rhodes’s land holdings around Hidalgo County have us poised to serve the needs of the community today and for decades to come. We take this responsibility very seriously, and we are committed to providing developed lands at competitive prices. As land developers, we take pride in the fact that the developments we create provide jobs to contractors, ad valorem tax accounts for the different taxing jurisdictions, and most importantly homes and businesses where the community lives and works.

Community Support and Charitable Giving

As responsible custodians of land we donate property for the good of our community. Examples of this generosity include $2.4 million in land for the World Birding Center Headquarters, $1.7 million in land and donations to IDEA Public Schools, $1.4 million in land to the North American Butterfly Association for construction of the world’s largest outdoor butterfly park, $1.2 million in land to the City of Mission for the largest sports complex in Hidalgo County, $750,000 in land to help with the creation of the Rio Grande Valley Veteran’s Cemetery, and numerous land donations for the creation of over 10 miles of public Hike and Bike trails, Mission Police Dept. Training facility, and miles and miles of utility and road right of ways.

Looking to the Future of the RGV

Real estate development and property management are not static, and require our commitment to being dynamic. We must constantly evaluate the real estate needs of Hidalgo County, its current occupants, and companies considering establishing businesses in our community. We must determine how to satisfy their needs. Our job is not complete until the tenants, property owners, and residents in our developments are pleased and satisfied with their properties.

Rhodes Enterprises, Inc. is currently developing three master planned mix-use communities in Hidalgo County and numerous smaller communities. The master planned communities vary from 1500 acres to 2750 acres. We believe that our developed lands can serve almost every anticipated real estate need. We look forward to the opportunity to serve the Rio Grande Valley’s real estate needs, and we welcome you contacting us.
